Helping to Kickstart young careers
Somerset Care is helping to Kickstart the careers of young people in the county by offering 36 trainee roles as part of the government's employment-boosting scheme.
Kickstart aims to support unemployed young people into paid work, helping them to develop skills and knowledge which will benefit them in their future careers. The paid, 6-month placements at Somerset Care are for 25 hours a week, and include opportunities in admin, maintenance, food preparation and care.
As well as learning how to do their respective job roles, Somerset Care will support successful applicants to develop employability skills through one-to-one mentorship and a series of bespoke in-house workshops. These trainee roles can be a great route into future apprenticeships and are a brilliant CV boost for future job applications.
Placements are available immediately, in locations across the county from Taunton to Yeovil, Burnham-on-Sea to Wincanton, and Minehead to Chard. Any eligible 16-24 year-old in receipt of Universal Credit can be referred for these roles by their Job Centre Work Coach.
